Terms

Terms of Service

Effective 3 October 2026. Plain terms for a small service: what AreI is, what you can expect from it, and what it expects from you.

Who you are agreeing with

AreI, at askarei.com, is run by Gabriel Lucero, an individual in New Mexico, United States. It is not a company. In these terms “AreI”, “we” and “us” mean Gabriel Lucero operating AreI, and “you” means the person using it. You can reach us at hello@askarei.com.

By using AreI you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

What AreI is, and what it is not

AreI puts your question to AI models from different makers, compares their answers statement by statement, and gives you one answer labelled with how settled it is. How it works describes this in full.

  • Answers come from AI models. They can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, whatever their label, and AreI's comparison can miss a real conflict or flag one that isn't there.
  • AreI doesn't look anything up on the web, so it can't confirm current facts.
  • AreI is not medical, legal, financial or other professional advice. Check anything that matters with a qualified person before you rely on it.

Using AreI

  • You must be at least 13 years old, or older where the law where you live requires it. To buy a paid plan you must be an adult who can enter a contract.
  • Without an account you can ask 25 questions a month, shared with your network. A free account gives you 25 of your own and keeps your answers for 180 days. Pricing always shows the current allowances.
  • You sign in with links sent to your email address, so keep that mailbox secure. You are responsible for what is done with your account and with any API tokens you create.

Fair use

Please don't:

  • use AreI to break the law, or to harass, deceive or harm anyone;
  • try to get around the allowances, rate limits or spending limits, for example by rotating addresses or accounts;
  • attack, overload, probe or reverse-engineer the service, or access it in ways it doesn't offer;
  • resell AreI's answers or access as a service of your own without our written agreement;
  • put personal information about other people into a question unless you have the right to share it.

We may refuse a question, or suspend or close an account, that breaks these rules. If we close a paid account for any other reason, we refund the unused part of what you paid.

Your questions and answers

Your questions are yours, and you may use the answers AreI gives you as you like, within the law. Other people asking similar questions may get similar answers. AreI uses your questions only to answer them and as the Privacy page describes, and it does not use them to train AI models. From your account page you can download everything AreI holds about your account, and delete it; the record of a plan you paid for is kept, as the Privacy page describes.

Paid plans

AreI doesn't sell any plan at the moment. These apply once it does, to anyone who buys one.

  • Price. The price and allowance are the ones on the Pricing page when you subscribe, in US dollars. Any tax we are required to collect is shown at checkout.
  • Billing. Payments are processed by Stripe. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, monthly or yearly, and you authorise each renewal charge until you cancel. A yearly plan gives you the monthly allowance every calendar month.
  • Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from Stripe's billing page, linked from your account. The plan stays until the end of the period you've paid for and isn't renewed; your account then continues as a free account, with your answers kept.
  • Failed payments. If a renewal can't be charged, your account works as a free account until it is, and the subscription may end if payment can't be collected.
  • Refunds. If you were charged in error, we refund the charge. If AreI didn't provide the service you paid for (for example, it was unavailable for much of a period), we refund the part of the charge that covers the time affected. Write to hello@askarei.com within 30 days of the charge or of the problem, whichever is later. Otherwise payments aren't refunded for the part of a period you didn't use. Nothing here limits a right to a refund you have by law.
  • Price changes. We won't raise the price of an active subscription without at least 30 days' notice on the Pricing page and on your account page. The new price applies from your first renewal after the notice, and you can cancel before then.
  • What a plan changes. A paid plan gives you more questions. It doesn't change how AreI answers.

Availability and changes

We work to keep AreI running, but we don't promise it will always be available or free of errors: it depends on AI providers and infrastructure we don't control, and sometimes it will be down for maintenance. We may change, add or remove features. If we stop offering a paid plan, we'll stop renewing it and refund any time you've paid for and can no longer use.

No warranty

To the extent the law allows, AreI is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including any warranty that its answers are accurate, complete or fit for a particular purpose.

Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue or data, arising from your use of AreI or its answers. Our total liability for any claim relating to AreI is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US $50. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow to be limited.

Ending

You can stop using AreI at any time, and delete your account and everything in it from your account page. Deleting the account doesn't cancel a subscription in Stripe, so cancel that first. We may suspend or close access that breaks these terms.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If you have a dispute with us, please write to us first: most problems can be solved that way. Any claim that can't be resolved goes to the state or federal courts located in New Mexico, unless the consumer law of the place where you live gives you the right to bring it in your own courts.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms we'll publish the new version here with a new date. A change that affects a paid plan to your disadvantage takes effect at your next renewal after at least 30 days' notice. If you keep using AreI after a change, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, stop using it and cancel any plan.
